We all know we use too much power. According to the Energy Information Association, the US is the world's number one consumer of primary energy. The question is, what are we going to do about it? President Obama has some great plans, but it remains to be seen how, and when, these will be realized.
Utility companies are busy promoting their energy efficiency programs and championing their use of alternative technologies. Yet 50 percent of our energy still comes from coal. Add to that our burning desire to break our dependency on foreign oil, and you have a very difficult situation indeed.
So, what do you think? Are Obama's plans over the top, or a mere step in the right direction? How do we solve our energy conundrum without bankrupting ourselves in the process?
